Fatty

In an abandoned movie theatre in Los Angeles, the gossip-encrusted legend of Fatty Arbuckle inspired the apocalyptic performance of dozens of individual actions that melted out into the star-studded, construction-pocked L.A. street.

Fatty’s career, from blackface vaudevillian to international superstar to symbol of Hollywood decadence was enacted as a performance ritual involving the many women in his life from mother to starlet accuser to doting wife collapsed into one.

Actions were generated based on his tormented relationship to food, his prankish sense of humor, his impotence, and finally his alleged rape of a diseased starlet and her subsequent death and resurrection as a ghost pushing a champagne bottle down the L.A. sidewalk for all eternity.
