How Was Your Day?
Inspired by the experiments using taped text in Soup for the American People, we decided to explore this methodology in a more personal way.
We spent the day of the performance together. At 3:00 PM, we went into separate rooms and recorded ten minutes’ worth of recollections about what had happened so far.
For the performance, we switched tapes. Using headphones, we listened to and recited the other artist’s description of the day we had both experienced just hours before.
The separate but intertwined recollections were woven together in a stochastic canon of ordinary love.
